A new sport?

Working out in the gym today i caught on the gym TV a sport i had never seen or heard of before. Iceland was playing Argentina which i suppose was the only reason the TV was tuned to the channel. It looked a bit like basketball to me but had a goal like soccer. Searching on the net i found out this game is called Team handball. It’s been around since about 1900 and was added to the Olympics in 1972. It’s played on a court similar to a basketball court but twice as large. This sport, Team handball, can best be described as water polo, minus the water, with elements of basketball and soccer if that makes sense. It’s mostly a european sport but i found major citys in the U.S. actually have Team handball clubs. It’s also an Olympic sport. Maybe i’ve finally found a sport i could compete in in the next olympic games.

The Lakers win the series 4-1! The clincher was an exciting 100-92 game. Wow, what a 4th quarter..classy group the Spurs staying on the court to congratulate all the Lakers on the win. Lakers on to the NBA finals…now go Celtics! Wait til the Lakers get Andrew Bynum back next year..scary!

Still autumn here in Buenos Aires but it sure is cold..11C all week during daytime..that’s about 46F. With a little wind that’s bone chillin’ cold for an LA guy like me. What am i doing in BA? Here to learn tango of course and work on my lame spanish.
